Welcome to the October edition of Marketing 360. Today we look at three things you can do now to insure more sales in 2020.
Step 1) Increase Your Website Traffic
One thing you should do is work on growing your website traffic. Our research among distributors, BSCs and ISPs shows that your website is among the top 3 sources used by the cleaning industry to learn about products and brands to purchase. (FYI. Industry trade magazines are number one.) So, your goal is to drive more buyers to your website. The more buyers' eyeballs you drive to your website now, the higher your 2020 sales will be.
Step 2) Use Print to Build Website Traffic
There are many ways to increase website traffic. However, the #1 way to increase your site traffic is print advertising.
You may find that hard to believe, but it's true. Recent studies by Sanitary Maintenance, Contracting Profits and Facility Cleaning Decisions magazines confirm this. Their 2019 research revealed that 82% or more of magazine readers referred to a manufacturer's website after reading a print ad.

82% of building service contractors went to a manufacturer's website after reading a print ad |

83% of in-house service providers went to a manufacturer's website after reading a print ad |

89% of distributors went to a manufacturer's website after reading a print ad |
Step 3) Put Exhibit Dollars in your 2020 Budget
Trade Shows are another marketing channel you should include in your 2020 marketing plan. Distributors, BSCs and ISPs cite trade shows as a primary source they use to learn about products and brands to purchase.
One show to consider is the Clean Buildings Expo. This event returns to Baltimore in March. It's produced by Contracting Profits and Facility Cleaning Decisions magazines in conjunction with the ISSA. It's a way for you to meet with qualified end-users of cleaning products and equipment from across the United States and Mid-Atlantic states.
Clean Buildings Expo 2020 will be co-located with the National Facilities Management & Technology Conference and Expo (NFMT). This means you'll have the opportunity to interact with NFMT attendees, which include more than 4,500 building owners and facility executives who influence purchasing decisions in their facilities.
Use these next few months to plant the marketing seeds that will grow into sales in 2020. Take a look at our 2020 media kit for print and digital opportunities that can help you generate new leads and more sales next year.
