Educational opportunities will be in abundance when the inaugural Clean Buildings Expo begins this morning in Baltimore.
A free trade show dedicated to the commercial cleaning industry, Clean Buildings Expo has been formed as a joint venture between ISSA and Trade Press Media Group, which owns Contracting Profits and Facility Cleaning Decisions magazines. It is also co-located with NFMT Baltimore, an event catering to building owners and facility executives in a variety of industries.
There will be nine educational sessions held today, covering topics ranging from green cleaning to robots to contaminated microfiber mops. Expert speakers appointed by ISSA, Contracting Profits and Facility Cleaning Decisions include building service contractors, industry consultants and in-house cleaning executives.
Held between 8 a.m. and 9:15 a.m., the first three sessions include: a discussion on improving indoor air quality and mitigating mold, a presentation from three industry leaders focused on what facility managers are asking of cleaning providers, and vice versa, and a session pertaining to robotics and automation, and how these technologies can be incorporated into the cleaning process. From 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. three more talks will be held on how to improve employee engagement, green cleaning teams, and the impact laundering has on microfiber mops and wipes. Tuesday's educational sessions end with 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. talks on key safety data sheet terms, floor care sustainability and budgetary practices, and practices that can help improve productivity.
Attendees can earn CEUs for each session they visit by answering questions emailed after the show.
More information will be shared at "Clean Talk with CleanLink," where leading CBE speakers will speak with Dan Weltin, editor in chief of Contracting Profits and Corinne Zudonyi, editor in chief of Facility Cleaning Decisions and CleanLink.com to discuss hot topics in the industries. Information on topics and presenters can be found at CleanLink Booth #125.
Some extra excitement will be added to the event via a $1,000 daily cash prize drawing that takes place at the Prize Stage in the Expo Hall. Paperwork needed for the drawing will be placed in your CBE tote bag.
After a full day of learning, take time to relax with the "March Madness Networking Party," which will feature appetizers, drinks and some college-hoops related talk.
