Cleaners/Disinfectants We explore the importance of using disinfectants with shorter dwell times. The problem with a 10-minute dwell time is chemicals dry after two minutes, so a surface must be cleaned five times to remain wet for 10 minutes. Disinfectants are available with kill claims as short as 30 seconds to a minute.
