Why ProTeam?
Over 25 years ago, ProTeam® invented the original lightweight backpack vacuum using PVC pipe and the harness from a mountaineering backpack. By wearing the vacuum, instead of pushing or dragging it, cleaners move 3x faster than with a commercial upright and 52% faster than with a dust mop. These unprecedented gains jettisoned backpack vacuums into cleaning programs all over the country.
Today, ProTeam offers a full range of maintenance solutions, including backpacks, canisters, uprights, and wet/dry vacuums. The latest line, the Next Generation backpacks, prioritize user-comfort, attempting to create greater harmony between human and machine.
Super Coach Pro®
The 6- and 10-quart Super Coach Pro®, represent over two decades of fine-tuning ProTeam’s original design. Now triangular instead of cylindrical, the ergonomic shape of the Super Coach Pro keeps the center of gravity close to the body. The FlexFit™ articulating harness responds to back and shoulder movements. Both of these features create less resistance against the body, reducing strain and fatigue.
“There’s a lot of repeat motion and stress injuries in the cleaning industry, mainly because people don’t know about the techniques and tools to avoid them,” said Kurt Oglesby who manages custodial operations for the student union building of a large university in Washington.
The majority of Oglesby’s employees are petite female users between 5’ and 5’5” tall, so it was crucial that he find a vacuum that would fit comfortably on smaller frames but have powerful enough suction to clean one of the largest buildings on campus. He chose the 6-quart Super Coach Pro.
“In looking out for my employees, I make sure they have ergonomic equipment to protect them and make their jobs easier,” said Oglesby.
GoFree® Pro
Utilizing the same ergonomic shape and harness, the battery-powerful GoFree® Pro is the Super Coach Pro’s cordless cousin. The GoFree Pro eliminates time-eating cord-management tasks and the mobility limitations a vacuum’s cord creates.
Southeastern Janitorial has been using the GoFree Pro for about three months in Class A office buildings for their nightly routine vacuuming. Because the vacuum called for a higher initial investment, Brandon Schneider, co-owner and CFO, first conducted an analysis of vacuuming times to determine if the time savings would be worth the cost.
"The GoFree Pro saves us approximately 45 minutes to one hour off vacuuming time per 100,000 SF,” said Schneider. “Based on these calculations, our GoFree Pro will pay for itself in seven months."
The vacuum has also set Southeastern Janitorial apart from their competition. They are the only company in the area that offers cordless backpack vacuum technology with their services. According to Schneider, it shows potential clients that his company is cutting edge.
ProGuard® Wet/Dry Vacuums
As extreme weather conditions hit many parts of the country, some facilities are experiencing water and snow cleanup on new levels. It is imperative to have the right equipment on hand to respond to extreme weather and protect the value of the facility.
Particularly in the prairie city of Saskatoon, Canada, where the GoodLife Fitness location endures a long winter and heavy snowfall, the convenience of ProTeam’s ergonomic hand-held wet/dry, the ProGuard® 4 Portable, has been invaluable.
“The reason I selected the ProGuard from what is available on the mass market today is how user-friendly and compact they are,” said Aron Griffith, Director of Club Services. “There’s nothing tricky about them. You just turn on and go.”
Fifty locations of the Canadian owned and operated health club chain, GoodLife Fitness, now use ProTeam® wet/dry vacuums to manage soil and moisture in their high-traffic entryways. By storing the vacs under club front desks, associates are ready to respond.
